
The OPGW preformed suspension clamp is designed primarily for supporting and suspending optical fiber composite overhead ground wire (OPGW) cables. It is applicable to OPGW cables, power conductors and overhead grounding wires deployed on overhead transmission lines, and is recommended for use on line sections with a deflection angle below 30 degrees.
As a helical line fitting, this suspension clamp serves to mount OPGW cables on transmission line poles and towers. Structurally optimized for overhead line operating conditions, it reduces static mechanical stress on cables at suspension points and enhances the cables’ anti-vibration performance. It also suppresses dynamic alternating stress induced by aeolian vibration, a primary cause of overhead line fatigue damage.
In addition, the clamp limits cable deflection to within industry allowable bending thresholds and eliminates residual bending stress on the cable body. It effectively mitigates localized harmful stress concentrations at suspension interfaces. This stress control function prevents incidental attenuation and structural damage to the optical fibers inside the OPGW cable, ensuring long-term optical signal transmission stability.
